Mapleton is a city in Utah County, Utah. It is located between the eastern coast of Utah Lake and the western part of Wasatch Range. Mapleton is located about 10 miles from Provo and about 50 miles from Salt Lake City, both of which can be reached by nearby Interstate 15.
According to the 2006 US census, Mapleton has a population of more than 7,000 people. The city has a total area of 9.2 square miles with a population density of over 600 people per square mile. It is located an elevation of over 4,700 feet above sea level.

Mapleton is served by the Nebo School District and is home to the Mapleton Elementary, Hobble Creek Elementary, Mapleton Jr. High School, and the newly built Maple Mountain High School. Nebo School District is a fast growing system that is one of the largest public school districts in Utah with over 24,000 students.
Mapleton has plenty of recreational facilities and programs in multiple parks, including the Mapleton City Park.
